Hi all iam looking at getting a Bug.
I had one many moons ago when I was young and free now married I what to relive my youth.
I have been looking at a V5 Sport.
Is this the best one or should I go for a 2.0L or a 18T.
And what about mapping does that help much with the different models.
Please help as I dont know what to do.

    Welcome to Evvo :)

V5 Sports are lovely. There's not too much you can do to them after market wise to increase power (without spending big £) but they're a nice package as standard. The silver ones are more common than the black ones.

The 1.8T is much easier to tune and to get more power out of if that's the kind of route you want to go down.

If you have the option of getting a V5 or a 1.8T, then get either of those over the 2.0.

    Power

    Thanks for that.
With power does it make much difference.
    And is it worth doing.

It depends on what you want.

The best thing to do is to test drive one of each and see how you get on with it :)

V5 Sports are nicer, good bumpers on them and 2 tone leather inside, 170bhp as standard,

1.8t's although more tunable they look like any other beetle, 150bhp as standard

V5's seem to be a good price at the mo been looking at them myself

I would say as an all round package the V5 Sport is the best one, we sold ours last year and miss it like mad, ours was black and just looked the business, we had it DNA'd and it was worth the expense, just made it more driver friendly, gave it a good steadyt delivery of power etc

I have a 1.8T and I am very happy with it. I like the way it looks like any other car, yet I can beat the boy racers off the lights any day :) . I love the little "whisk" noise it makes when the turbo kicks in too. I chose the 1.8T as I heard they have less problems and don't guzzle so much motion lotion? Just went on what I had been told, but had it for 4 months now and no running problems and it tows my caravan a treat.

Have owned both 2.3 V5 Sport and 1.8T (current car). Sport had the looks but definitely prefer the 1.8 and the kick of the turbo.
