Its been a while since last owning a beetle, but the itch for a project just wont go away. Fortunately the wife loves convertible beetles, so getting the go ahead shouldn't be a problem.

I am looking at getting a 2005 ish rag top, I want to put it on air suspension and fit a set of 18 x 9, 5 x 100, ET45 rims. The question I have is; with that size of wheel and air suspension, will I have any issues with fitment or interference? will I need to get work done to/under the arches?

The decision to go and buy the car (found a lovely blue one 2 miles down the road) pretty much depends on this setup working, as I have found the perfect wheels and want the ultra low look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had 18x9 on mine with air ride, but the offset was 10, so not really comparable lol.
