    Have just bought another beetle, one to do the daily comute to work in (about a mile).

    It is a black 1.6 53 plate with tinted windows and 19" wheels, was just to cheap to pass up. Im picking it up after work tomorrow so will add some pics at the weekend.

    dont i know it and what is worse is that i still really want another aircooled one sometime soon as a resto project to park up in the corner of the workshop at work.

    it was £1200 but went to collect and pay for it earlier and he had sold it before i got there for a bit more, Not to bothered as it was a cat d job.
    so going to look at a 1.8t tomorrow evening as need another car very soon

    I know and i just got home with it. rebuilt head and new turbo 7,000 miles ago.
    needs a thorough clean inside and out but was only £1,400.

    It is in dire need of a clean inside and out but here is a pic as it is now

    yes it was cheap but it has a few issues

    1: i think i need a drivers door latch
    2:eek:ne spotlight is pushed back and the other does not work
    3:both sils are dented and scratched

    and can anyone tell me if it should have the lift up spoiler or not as the boot is different to our 2.0l.

    how do you know if it is working or not as cant hear it lift up.
    can you remove the spoiler part to replace the motor easy enough if it is broken.

    ok so gave it a quick wash earlie and had a look through the handbook which says i should have a switch for the rear spoiler under the instrument pannel but look as hard as i can i dont see it can someone point me in the right direction.

    get on your hands and knees and look under the steering cowling and you should see the obd2 connector next to that is the switch
