It must be the Cold Poor Poppy

    Well this one has been niggling at me since we bought Poppy in the summer. For whatever reason the Remote Keyless Entry system (The Blip) only has a usefull range of about 2 feet if that !.

    I have changed the battery yesterday in the fob and thought it would help but sadly its still poor.

    Is this a generic Beetle issue ?

    Do we know where the antenna is for the system ?

    I have a SEAT Leon FR and the Blip works at an easy 50 - 60 metres....

    I only have 1 key !!

    Anyone Help ?

    Mine seems OK, works from the same distance as the Mini and the Fiats does :)

    I don't think so,I've had my Bug almost 7yr and the range is like your Leon ,50-60m:)

    both mine seem fine too :)

    Altho one of them has some kind of weird fit when he went to the local garage and it wouldn't work at all.... fine when he was away from there, but each time he went back there, the fob wouldn't work!

    Well we have a lot of VW cars here at work so I may swap :D one out. I assume its easy to code the blip to open / close the doors. Its the chip inside the key thats the odd bit... but as they come is two parts I should be laughing :D

    the fob needs to be the same part number as the one you have and then coded in by VW :)
