The blue temp light is usually down to a faulty temperature sensor. Try changing that first (its really easy, theres a how-to on here) and costs about £30 from the stealers. It could be the dodgy temp sensor is confusing the car for some reason.

Get it Vagcom'd as well just in case that isn't the issue.

    deffo temp sensor IMO

had exactly same issue as this with v5 last year. the same flashing and beeping...oil and temp lights...shortly after warm up and also accelerating from traffic lights. lights would go out and then the whole light and sound show would represent again erratically.
stealers replaced two temp sensors in engine somewhere and problem solved. apparently there was some new type sensor or something that needed replacing to be sure, to be sure...
best of luck with fix. these things are very annoying.

I imagine that would be the temp sensor theres an early blue tipped type (problematic) and a late green tip type (better) so I imagine they swapped your early type temp sensor for the late type :)
