Hi, was just wondering if you can fit Aero wipers to a newbie? Has anyone done this mod? If so do you have the part No's for the arms. Reason for these questions is the OEM wipers are driving me daft they keep hitting the plastic trim at the bottom of the screen and thought this mod would solve the issue.

    Thnks in advance

They probably just need the arm taking off and moving around one spline :)

I used some £5 Tesco universal ones, they lasted a good few years and were way better than standard. But when I replaced them, the newer ones weren't as good and I had to strip them and just use the new blade edge.

Hi Shamrockez, I did this today and it seems to have worked but I'd still like to fit Aero arms. I retro fitted a set to my Audi S3 8L about 5/6 years ago, and they were from the MkIV Golf platform, just can't remember the part No's. Would like to retro fit these to the Beetle.

    Cheers

The aero blades I got looked odd on the standard arms. So I`ve just got 2 of the standard drivers side wipers with the spoiler on them instead. Such a subtle mod, I don`t think anyone has ever noticed

Now I'm even more confused. Correct where I'm going wrong.

The Bosch 530 twinpack = Aero Blades suitable to fit existing OEM arms?

These are straight fit and cost is around £20. (any pic's of these fitted)

Does anyone have replacement Aero arms from the MkIV/V Golf platforms fitted? If so are there any part No's/prices for these.

Also whats best method to remove the arms after removing the nut (without damaging the screen) as they are so damn thight.

    Thanks for feedback so far.

I've removed the arms with a ball joint splitter before. The windscreen replacement man did the same. Be careful not to go at the wrong angle and go through the plastic tray though.

A tad strong there RichardK, I was only after some clarification. I've never actually seen these 530 wiper blades, and I never asked you to go out and take a pic.

I thought the whole point of these forums were for like minded people who share an enthusiasm for a specific model to share idea's and help others out. If its too much bother for you then don't reply to my posts.

Also quite capable of changing wiper blades, only thing is its not blades I'm after its complete wiper arms and blades (as per tittle)

Many Thanks Shamrockez I'll try this over the holidays.
