Default rear brake pad change

Hi I am about to replace the rear brake pads in my 04 tdi beetle, I have not done this before and have heard that the pistons have to be rotated as they go back in, having not had such a posh new car before with rear discs any helpful advice on this subject would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Yep you need to buy a tool to rotate them, you can do it with pliers but its a pain! You could borrow my tool if you want (save you £25!) as you live in Swindon also, but I wont be able to get it until Sunday night (all my tools are at my parents in bristol as thats where I work on my cars and I'm back there Sunday changing my lower suspension arms) I could give you a hand as well if you're really stuck

Thanks for the advice, I will have a bash myself, I just wanted to check before hand, thanks for the kind offer of the tool loan, I will see how I get on, I have plenty of time and my stupid job makes me quite resourceful.

An update on rear brakes(a little late) tried without the tool, spent ages fiddling with it, rang a good friend that had the tool as it fits older cars as well, two minutes to do it with the right tool, wont be trying it again without one, thanks for the advice, you were right!!!!!!!!!!!
