ugh i am fuming >:(
on my way to no rice tonight, left extra early to catch up with the lads and have a good night and hopefully get a good parking space too!
then turning onto the m25 from the A2 i slip it into third gear, lift clutch, accelerate and dont move! just gliding along, but not accelerating! so i go into 4th and nothing, gear goes in but engine just revs and not moving! then i try 5th and same problem, so i drop back down to 2nd and everythings fine!
my bug only has 1st and 2nd gear!
so i crawl into nearest petrol station, rac come and rescue me! they think i have a slipped clutch or damaged clutch plate, apparently its a common problem with the new skoda fabia vrs?
anyone know anything about this? should find out from vw tommorow! not a happy bunny :(

Oh no - that sucks! :( Shame you couldn't get 3rd cos you'd have been able to go on the mway at 70ish in 3rd (Robbie will anyway).... albeit not for long if you don't wanna cook your clutch/engine.
I've never heard of this happening - perhaps someone on the American forum has had it?

BACK ON THE ROAD! and its never felt soo good to be back in a bug, and out of a focus!
got it back and i had an explanation from chief engineer, some rubbish about clutch plates and loss of contact between parts, but to be honest once i heard it was under warranty i switched off!
main thing is its fine now and i haven't paid a penny! RESULT!
but apparently when they got it in morning, it didn't even have 1st or 2nd gear! I've been told to keep revs low as possible for the first few hundred miles, which is a lso a bit tricky!
ROLL ON NO RICE! aint nothing guna stop me this time, no gears, no wheels NO RICE baby!

well the mechanic guy i spoke to for a little while only noticed the votex frnt, which is vw anyway and the smoothing of front bonnet, which is no way going to affect clutch! they didnt notice it had been lowered! so i guess not!
