Sorry if this is a bit long.
Central locking has packed up, :( think its the passenger door control unit?
What happen was passenger door warnig light stopped working, took door card of & replaced bulb, still didnt work checked bulb its fine, checked feed to light thats fine. Checked return cable (brown/white) & it goes into the control unit. Theres a larger (brown) cable leeves the control unit & goes back to the main earth point in the car, thats fine. If i link between these two the light works fine.
Now i've reassembled everything the central locking wont lock either door. Checked & re checked every connection, nothing left off.
Now if i shut the doors & push the interior lock button it locks the drivers door, but the passenger locks then pops up again.
If i lock the car with the key manually then press the remote it will open the drivers door on 1st push & passenger door on 2nd push as normal, just wont lock.
I've replaced the batteries in the remotes no different, looking towards the passenger door control unit. Or
If anybody has got any ideas or knowledge i would be very gratefull.
P.S someone has just mention to me it might be the door switch for the light not working & making the central locking think theres a door open?? hence it dont lock but will open.
