One of the 2 tones in my horn (car horn before the smutty comments start! ;D) has stopped working, is this simply a blown fuse or do need a new horn?

The horn still works but is only half as loud and sounds a bit pants!

I found on mine it was simply the contacts that needed cleaning. Check em first

For other horn problems ask Daryl he seems to be the expert in that area

Went out at lunch disconnected the horn, it still don't work, got both horns and a new rear interior light/alarm sensor (that I buggered up whilst trying to change the bulb ::) ) for £60 delivered from a breakers, and al of it will arrive tomorrow. Thats a good £150 less than what the stealers wanted for the same items (ok they are brand new but even so!). Also ordered a new heated rear window switch from the stealers as its been tempremental ever since I had the dash apart (£12), so that will be all Archies annoying little electrical gremlins sorted :)

HA! Glad it's sorted.

I'd like a novelty horn on my bug to replace the stock one - how hard are they to fit? Do they fit!?

Best bet is to leave your standard horn on and have a seperate switch for the novelty horn to save any MoT problems.
Only problem with the musical air horns is finding somewhere to fit the things as they normally use 5 air horn trumpets and have to be mounted fairly close together so the pipe run from the compressor isn`t too much.
The old Mini trick used to be to mount them under the boot floor.

The standard horns are dead easy to get to, its on the passenger side at the front just behind the temp sensor, so imagine changing it would be easy enough.

yeah space would be an issue for more than 1 more horn :o

I want an airhorn sound.

Just the ordinary 2 trumpet air horns are a pice of p155 to fit.
You just need the relay supplied with the air horns connected to a live feed from the standard horn and seperate live feed from the battery or an ignition switched source, an earth and then the power to the compressor.
Stick the compressor fairly close to the air horns so you don`t get too much delay when you hit the switch and off you go.
If I could squeeze `em under the bonnet of a Mini I`m sure you could find room in a Bug, maybe behind the bumper somewhere ?

There is tonnes of room where the standard horns are fitted, I could fit my head in there! (well almost! ;D )
