What about the MAF sensor could that cause it?

Does you blue coolant light flash at all?

Bluelight only on for 2 mins on start up and the vag com would find a faulty maf sensor. Any more idea's?

Change the MAF sensor - it controls fuel too.

Try washing it first tho.

Had same problem. VAG COM said all ok but a local college put their stuff on it and it came up with dodgy front lambda probe.
May be worth getting a second opinion.

Well the bug is tucked up for winter now so when funds allow the maf sensor will be changed, may aswell put a silicone intake on there while i'm at it, lol. ;)

sounds like dodgy lambda probe ,it needs sorting as unburnt fuel into the cat will kill it quickly.mine had same problem!!
lambda cost next to nowt and are easy to fit(when the exhausts cold!!) ;)

If you saw where my lambda was you'd think again :o

But just for the hell of it i'll change the lambda and the maf sensor, there goes some luxuries i was planning >:(

You can clean the MAF sensor - much cheaper than replacing it :) altho normally when the MAF goes you feel a lot less power....

If you saw where my lambda was you'd think again *:o

ha ha is it a bit cramped in there?? ;)

as lucy says ,you really notice it if the maf goes, but i never even realised my lambda was shot??

you have a neuspeed p flo kit ,same as me,dont ya??have you still got the oiled k&n filter on??as they are notorious for killing mafs, esp on turbo engines as the oil from the filter coats the sensor,i changed mine to an un-oiled stainless mesh filter and have had no problems since!!

I've cleaned the maf but not had time to put it back on yet! Would degreasing the air filter be an option too?

only trouble with de greasing thefilter is that it wont trap all the particles as effectively ,and the last thing you want is loads of bits getting into ya motor,my filter was only about £45 which is cheaper than replacing a maf,a local tuning parts company supplies em

heres mine
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/porschetrimr/filter001.jpg,ive had it on over ayear now without issues, but wheni had the k&n/neuspeed one on it killed my maf in a matter of months

Houston we have a problem. :(

Changed the lambda, 3 hours removing the window cowl and the metal on under it, aswell as lengthening the wires :(

Started it up with the new maf on too, no smog out of the exhaust, Result i thought. Drove it down the road and all ok, soon as the blue light went out, wham bam throttle to the floor. Soon as the engine hit boost, cough splutter bang and exhaust flames. Put the old maf back on, pulls like a motherfu*k*r but kicks out smog again.

I've aged 3 years today, and banshee motorsport have lost my new airfilter ( well the courier). So its time to bite the bullit and get a new MAF from Audi.

VW's, gotta love 'em ;D

So the car has its new GENUINE maf on and its new Lambda too. The fuel has stopped dripping from the zorst but still getting a bit of black smoke. Maybe the crap which accumilated in the zorst needs blasting out or maybe the cat is DEAD :o Either way i've had enough >:( Don't anyone visit Wolverhampton as you might be hit by flying spanners ;D

The cat is a race one thats the problem. And as for Banshee and that airfilter i'm pissed right off, its the courier who has lost it but Banshee have my number off me everyday but they never call me back.
