I know its not Beetle related, but was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on the fault that has just started to occur on my passat tdi.
This only happens 1st thing in the morning, and when the outside temp is cold(below around 6 deg).
After driving the car for about 1 mile, the brake warning light starts flashing, and the computer says STOP refer to owners manual (it says take to dealers). If I turn off ignition and restart, it is fine and will not reoccur again. I have checked the brakes and fluid and all o.k.
Has anyone got any idea? :'(

The brake switch?

Do the lights actually stop working? Have you removed the rear lights at all? Could be water or something getting into them.

All the lights work from the start, I have checked for water in them - all dry. could be something along same lines I suppose, as when it is warmer (outside temp) it will not happen.

Have you tried VAG-COM on it?
