:-? only the filter,i dont think it's worth putting money into tuning the 1.6 lump (maybe nos) but if ya want power buy a 1.8t ,i think along the lines of fill the boot full of ice and go cruise 8-)

The problem with non turbo engines is that it costs a lot to get very few BHP compared to the turbo varients :(

My 1.6 was remapped by AMD in bicester - complete and utter waste of time, improved fuel economy marginally, but other than that totally pointless, i'd save your money and put it to something more worthwhile.

you could have a play with an induction kit, maybe even a cat back exhaust. might help a little bit!?

supercharger :)
new fule rail
induction
exhust
kent cams and pullys
all this cost more than an evo fq340 and will get you to about 150bhp ;D
50bhp of nos is the best on the cheap

With a remap there isn't much you can do other than play with fuelling and timing. It's much easier to tune turbocharged cars as boost control adds to the equation.
It can be very rewarding though to take an engine like this and use the more converntional techniques of tuning such as camshafts, head-work etc, but yes this is alot more expensive. It can still make for a very sweet running motor and very different from anything else in terms of being unique at a show for example :)
