Hi all, im new here and I think its a great vw forum. I was looking for some answers for my NB problem on the net and found you guys. Im from Guatemala, Central America. My problem is this, After I left the car without starting it for about 15 days, it didnt turn on. I yook out the battery and charged it and put it back to the car. Now the car cannot stay idle it just turns off. I really dont know what to do. Please help me. Thanx in advance!!

:-? :-? ive left mine maybe your imobizer needs reseting or the ecu would have reset when you took out the battery .....

That's really weird! I dunno what that woud be - sounds electrical tho. Have you asked on the American forum? www.newbeetle.org

ok, ill try at the american forum.............do you think it could be the throttle body that is a little dirty and it just got worse meanwhile??

Could be it's lost the throttle adaptation settings, to reset disconnect battery and leave a minute, then reconnect and turn ignition to on for a couple of minutes without starting , then turn off again. Should be ok after that. Also try reading fault codes for clues

Yeah I think so. Normally we get America's weather 2 weeks later - so an icy Christmas for us!

i leave battery disconnected about 5 mins (however long it takes to smoke a cig .
but ............. i leave pos and neg lead touching ;)
