View Full Version : Sump Options?

Mine has had the drain bolt done up too tight and now it's threaded and won't undo - hence I can't change the oil etc etc etc. Anyways, Robbie now appears to be 'marking his spot' when I go places, which isn't too much of a problem because it's not leaking much..... but I'd like to get it sorted so I can change the oil.

As I have wacked my sump a fair few times anyway cos he's lowered, I was wondering if anyone knew of a sump for lowered Bugs?

Cheers :)

how could any car be made in 07 and be on the road now? :-?

It's because he has an Amerian chassis number, it's quite different to European ones.

Righty - it's arrived! Looks well built and sturdy. If anyone wants me to take pics of it at different angles or any measurements, lemme know.

yeah -- some pics of "old vs new" from the side would be good.

I once spent time sitting next to an engineer who was doing oil pickup work *-- amazing what happens in there!!

I'll try and get the pics, but I won't be the one changing it i don't think - unless we can get him high enough up on axel stands.

Yeah I bet! I'm guessing the tube bit bolts on somewhere up inside the sump cos i can't find a home for it anywhere else lol

i once fitted a sump on my old car had to drop gearbox and take anti roolbars off pain in the arse.(all done on axelstands in a car park .. then theres the blue glue that takes hrs or days to set so oil dont pee out all over and when its all fitted and done you poor the oil in for the frist time hoping it dont leak from somewhere and you have to start all over agine ..........
