Tools needed:
Tin of paint - hammerite, caliper paint, radiator paint etc
Toothbrush
Wire brush
Paint brushes
Jack & axel stands
Brake cleaner
Goggles and gloves.

Step 1:
Jack your Bug up and place on axel stands. Put the wheel under the Bug for extra security:

Step 2:
Remove wheel. Put on goggles and gloves - safety first kids! Use the wire brush to get the worst of the mud/brake dust/junk off the caliper. Spray a small amount of brake cleaner on the tooth brush and carefully scrub the caliper, taking care not to get it all over the disks. Once it's looking clean, get your paint and start painting! Remember not to get any on the disks - this could lead to a disaster! You may need to do more than one coat:

And do the same with the rears.
