Tools needed:
Torx bit (30 on mine, but 20 on later Bugs)
Phillips screwdriver
New mirrors switc (if you're changing it).
First, you need to either pull the handle cover off, or use a screw driver to prize it off:

Then undo the 2 phillips screws:

Then there's 3 torx screws under the bottom of the panel:

Then that's it for taking the door panel off. All you have to do now is carefully lift it off.
For removing the mirror switch, you need to pull the connector block out then move the 2 long tabs and 1 short one so you can slip the switch out:

Refitting is the reverse of taking it off.
