View Full Version : MY 1974 CAL LOOK BUG

Wonder where this little dude is now? My first bug! *:-[
Had around £10,000 chucked on him, complete body off resto, each nut and bolt was stainless steel, restored by Dave Wingrave. Bought it, kept it as it was, added big cross drilled brakes at the front, chrome sump, flat rear lights, and looked after it. Was resto'd in 1997 so kinda got that mid 90's cal look to it.
Best car I've ever driven, not very quick, well could sit at 80 on the motorway no probs, but so much fun.

Had it on show everywhere lol including Volksworld 2002 and 2003. Where is it now!?!? Won bristol best in show with this in 2002, loads of other awards, was seriously mint I tell ya! *:)

Yeah would love to. I'd have to set my self a budget of £20,000 I reckon, my ideas cost DOE! Would love the Paintbox to do it. Was thinking of an Oval Resto Cal, but with a modern twist.

Ah, nice thread on VZI - he emailed me a while back, he's a cool chap. Can't believe he only had it for 18 months nutter!

:'( i'd love to track down my old school car ??? but i cant find my pictures or remember the plate so ::) think i'll have a job on . it was pictured in volks world at the bugsperiance show in oct 96 :-/ but i cant seem to get a copy ,any idea's :)
