Standard cd player head unit?!?!?

Hey guys

the other half bought me an ipod connector for the car for my birthday which replaces the cd changer so Im on the look out for a standard/original vw beetle dash cd player rather than the tape deck that I (have just for those days when you buy a cd and have to listen to it straight away :D )

How much do they go for? and does anyone have one sitting around anywhere???

they don't come up for sale very often, and when they do people are prepared to pay a fair bit for them!

Good plan. Keep you eye out on ebay - especially in the audio areas - less people like to see it than if it's in the VW section.

i have got a cassette one, standard vw. dont suppose interests you much, but let me know if it does!

ah ha ha! but you don't have this cassette player! its a super dooper amazing cassette player! VW only made 3 of them! It is the only one remaining! HONEST! worth about £765, but you can have it for £764.50
let me know asap, i've got a lot of interest ;D ;D

I was after a standard VW CD player for a while....then my lovely Nico came to the rescue!!!! I love it! I also have my ipod attached to my head unit but the CD player is useful for those days when you just want to throw in a CD to play straight away. Good luck finding one chick - apparently they are like chickens teeth!!

Yeah I'll be fine with the ipod, will just keep eyes open for one, if one comes up it ill be a bonus :) like you, its only for those days i have been shopping and wanna listen to my new purchase straight away.......im impatient a bit like a child ;)

Don't need one now anyway (thank god looking at rthat price) managed to wire in the i pod thing through and keep my cd changer so I have the best of both worlds ;)

I've got a Sony one lying around, display cable is screwed but it works via remote.
Free to a good home as can't be arsed fixing it.

I'd scrap/sell both. USB/iPod is the way forward Dude. 4,000 tunes on one USB or a trillion on your iPod. CD's get scratched, take up too much room and are so 1990's :Twisted Don't even get me started on tape players ;D Might be selling my Kenwood USB head unit soon as upgrading to a Clarion Screen one. But i'm working on the hoops first :Japan

Hi I have just brought a new head unit it was £209.00 inc from listers VW However you have to state to the the coulour of the display you want as i wanted blue but didnt say so i have white now.

You realise white is for the exclusive V5 Sport Club or Turbo S if you can get one shipped over from the US!

Get a V5 Sport one then Danny cos the American radios won't pick up odd numbers at the end of the radio frequency eg can't pick up 105.4 105.8 105.2 etc etc.
