Was thinking of something around Hereford way would this work for most people as we could do a little convoy to the location meet up at a large pub or in the town centre, have an easter egg hunt then lunch out and drive home :)

Having had a quick scour of the internet I have looked at the following places:-

Brockhampton Estate - National Trust property but with lots of grounds it would be a good place for people to do the easter egg hunt and explore a beautiful country house and its grounds.

Eastnor Castle - Fairytale Georgian castle dramatically situated in Malvern Hills and surrounded by deer park, lake and famous arboretum. Richly decorated Gothic and Italianate interiors with Medieval Armour. Children's playground, garden centre and maze, special events programme. Eastnor Castle is also a popular venue for corporate private entertainment with luxury overnight accommodation.

The AMAZING HEDGE PUZZLE - Symonds Yat West - a giant maze for you to navigate and a fun one at that with a series of puzzles and clues to solve to get you to your prize in the middle

OK - I would go with Eastnor Park Charlie.... its gorgeous there and theres loads of deer everywhere! My sister leaves her caravan there for months at a time and just goes for the weekends with her hubby and kids. Its lovely. Thats where i would suggest but i would contct them to make sure that they allow cars in on the weekned as my mum and dad went there last weekend and werent allowed in in the car....im not sure when it reopens to cars at the weekends.

The Maze is kinda fun but its run by the danters *eek* (fair folk)

Ive never been to Brockhampton estate......although i have been to a couple of 'balls' at Brockhampton court in my time.....used to be the place of choice when i was younger.

Just called them awaiting return phonecall, the lady did say they were open on that day and that they had quite a lot of easter events on so the possibility to our own eater egg hunt is slim, she didn't know if they could allocate us a piece of car park and the entry is 6 quid per person regardless of whether you visit inside the castle. the group bookings lady is going to call me back as she would be able to deal with the enquirey better, i'm at home all day so will be around to take a call

Ok spoke to a lovely lady there and they often hold meets for car enthusiasts so they are more than willing to let us come for the day. she is trying to arrange for a piece of car park to be cordoned off for us so we can all park together, she said that there is lots on for the family that day but we are more than welcome to do our own thing as there is more than enough space, theres a restaurant there and picnic benches sounds really lovely, they are sending me out an info pack.
only other thing is that there is a charge per person for Adults its £6 and children over 5 is £4.50 under 5's free thats a group rate discount i have said that there would a max of 15 cars that i could see if theres any more we'd let them know and if theres less so that we wouldn't need a cordened area we would also let them know, anything else you need to know or is that it for now???

Right just had some info through from the castle peeps, seems like i was confuddling the lady on the phone as she quoted me £6 p/p they've just sent me a brochure round and entrance for the grounds only (not the castle) is £3.50 per adult. i'll give them a ring and let them know that thats what we want, do we have rough numbers yet? if theres enough cars going i'll have another word about some parking spaces but i don't hold out much hope on Bank Holiday Monday.

is there anything else we need or need to know???

Geoff - camp at Eastnor!!! They have camping there all the time....infact i think my parents are on a rally there the weekend of our meet!!! Its gorgeous too - at night you can sit out listening to the deer.

well date is Bank Holiday Monday 9th April - venue Eastnor Castle - easter egg hunt *organised by us based on some cryptic clues that we are going to provide you all with, VW cruise to suitable family run pub afterwards also with mini photo shoot

Guys - as time approaches i've realised i havent prepared any questions for the event. How would people feel about joining in the Chase the Chicken Easter Egg Hunt at Eastnor on the day. There is an entry fee for this which gets you entry into the castle, grounds etc or we could simply find a spot in the grounds and me, ali and amy could hide the supply of eggs I have and you could all have to find them lol ;D

OK Guys, just got off the phone with the lovely peeps at the castle....they are having a massive easter weekend thing there on sunday/monday so have offered us the use of the deer park which is directly opposite the castle main entrance....as long as we park away from the campers and caravanners she said we'd have loads more room over there to park and some good pics,
she has got my name and number and is informing the park warden so looks cool, if me Ali and Charlie get there early as planned we should be able to secure a bit of ground so we can all park together :D
