Northern Meet for everyone?

We need something to look forward to now that Reading is over and done with so how about a meet up North (much needed).

We are thinking January to miss the Christmas rush. so how about ice skating, shopping and bowling for the boys.....

How about cruising there on the morning of Saturday January 13 doing the above and then staying over night in a travel lodge or something and cruising back on the Sunday.

Up for that? We all have enough time to save some cash for it......

With the idea of shopping and bowling, we will have organise it properly, we did something like this in Cribbs at the last regional meet and it was a bit of a disaster, what if people have had enough, it will end up just people wandering about on their own and stuff.

If we gonna do something, we will have to make sure everyone has eachothers mobiles, and everyone is agreed with what they actually want to do.

What about having a couple of "fixed points" in the day, like for example 2pm meet up and talk, take photos etc, then have a few different activities (like skating, bowling, shopping) to do later in the afternoon, then all meet up for a meal somewhere in the evening. That way you have the chance to get everyone together, but people also have some freedom to do their own thing. Different people could co-ordinate the different activities, and we could sign up in advance for things that need booking.

I'm really not bothered if its Sheffield or Manchester, but i would say Manchester offers easy/better access from M6, M56, M60, M61, M62 & M67 it also gives people from Scotland an easy run via M74 - M6.

I've been to both Meadow Hall and the Trafford Centre and would say IMHO Trafford Centre is by far the best! sorry *:-[

Manchester thats central england not North,when I was an impreza owner they had a thing called the NBO Northern Big One we could have the same NBO but it could be the Northern Bug one Lightwater Valley is an excellent venue in North Yorkshire as there is a theme park there for the Kids and wives if there not that intreseted in the cars the subaru event has trade stands from a lot of the major subaru tuners and some car dealers from all around the country we had 398 cars there last year and I am still
an active member so will be going this year this is just a thought could make further enquires about Lightwater Valley though :)

To be fair, once the date had been chosen as 10th/11th Feb I knew I couldn't help because I'd be on holiday, and that Victoria would only just have come back from her holiday (at the time we seemed to be the Northern people who'd contributed to the previous thread) so neither of us were in a position to take it on. *I think it needed someone to take responsibility for it, but to be honest so much happens behind the scenes on here it's hard to know what's being done and who's doing what. *Perhaps we need a Northern rep, or some geographical spread amongst the mods, if we're going to make these things happen. I don't mean that as a criticism, by the way - just a suggestion :)

Thanks JP - I can't devote a lot of time to organising this, so , well volunteered ;). . I think, as you say, it just needs someone to take responsibility, but only for trying to at least come up with a date/venue/time thats makes it possible. Once that happens, it's surely up to those that are going, to make it an event!, So....

Jampot totaly agree the subaru meetings started off four year ago fifth one this year as an idea to get 10 to 15 cars together an through local club support in particular Tyne Tees Scobbies and Cumbrian Scoobs this is now the biggest meet of the year from the humble acorn has sprouted a mighty oak could

I think that we should have bumped the thread nearer the time - it would have probably got someone motivated to do something about it who was in the position to be able to, and know the area.

You don't need to be a rep or a mod to organise stuff - just go ahead and do it :D
