Navy Bug here....

Hi everyone, just thought that I would introduce myself. *Some of you will already know me (or at least know my car) from NewBeetle.org.uk. *My real name is Ray, I am 34, and live in plymouth. *I am in the Navy, hence the username ;D, and am not around that much. *The last show/meet I went to was Bristol Volksfest last year. *I then went away to sea for 4 months, getting back just before christmas. *I am only home for another 7 weeks, and am off again for a 4 1/2 month deployment to th Caribbean this time. 8-) *I have been too busy for the last 3 weeks moving into a new house, and have not even ventured onto any forums or anything.

My job in the Navy is that of photographer. *When you do see me at any meets I am the one lugging around a huge great camera and tripod etc, whilst everyone else has their compact cameras. *

My Car... A 2000 2.0 Beetle in Navy blue. *Projektzwo body kit, Projektzwo performance exhaust, Projektzwo 18" alloys, full leather re-trim, BUG plate, tinted windows, lowered, loads of shiny things on the interior and exterior, and a couple of badly damaged sills. *I will get them sorted out this year. *When I go away in March, I am going to get the wheels refurbished. *I have already bought a set of steel wheels for the car to sit on whilst I am at sea, my new house has a garage as well, so I can do all sorts of jobs when I get home in July.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I have been having a nosey around the forum, and some of the photographs on here are stonking. I am going to have to raise my game if I want to impress. 8-)

I will have to see if I can make it up to the Bristol meet on the 11th. I am back at work next week after having had 4 weeks leave, and will be at sea for the week. Hopefully we will be alongside for the weekend. I can then maybe get in an IKEA visit as well as meeting you guys, now that I have a new house to fill up with stuff.

Is this the main place to visit now? Does anyone still go on Newbeetle.org.uk? When I was home last there had been a few bust-ups and loads of people decided to start their own forum (this place). Or are people keeping one foot in both camps so to speak?

I remember Bristol Volksfest last year - and Ian eyeing up all your camera equipment! ;D

Would be fab to see you around, defo make it to the regional meet if you can (ooh and I got some v. funky cushions from Ikea the other day - they have good stuff at the mo!) :D

Some people visit both some people use this, some people use the other :) It's up to you what you want to do :)

Good to see you're still around! ;D I'm Luke aka Gertiebug, AKA Archiebug ;D

Since the last time you were around i've sold Gertie and the crapy Fiat, bought a Smart Roadster, rejected it, bought an 03 V5 Sport New Beetle called Archie, sold it as i've got a Mini Cooper company car, and with the money from the sale i've bought a 1958 classic bug which you'll see at the Bristol meet if you come along.
