View Full Version : sticking on eyelids and spoiler
Im planning on doing it this weekend so that it will be good to go on Sunday (yay) anyone got any tips on how to stick em on.....im not so worried about the eyelids but am quite concerned about the top of the rear window spoiler as the spoiler isnt as curved as the window.......so shall i use G clamps to hold it in place? or rope around it or what......im so nervous they are gonna come off while im tazzing down the motorway!!!
Please help me :-/
Got some Sikaflex on order.
I plan to stick them all on on Friday evening and then not use my car til Sunday morning for Volksfest.

I'd quite like to know the answer too, cos Steve's got some spoilers coming for the T5 - one for the lower front bumper and one at the back....
someone must have done it already???

Tip only stick one eyelid on, just throw the other one out of the window on the motorway and save the time and effort. ::)

ive got mine on now.....the spoiler went on a dream - the eyelids went on pretty well too - quite messy tho - keep a load of cotton buds near you for the mess. I used Sikaflex to stick them all on with - works really well.
I will say tho - if you have to get your eyelids sprayed, make sure they use the right paint as mine have split (the paintwork, not the eylids) as the sun heated up the lids and they expanded and the paint didnt.....stupid sprayer must have used the wrong mix. Gonna have to respray them now.
let me know if you want more info..... good luck!
