My back seat is only attached at one side, as I discovered when I put the seats down to help someone move on Friday.
The bit that's not attached is the seat part where it's hinged at the front, doesn't seem to want to go back in either!

I'm not sure how that bit works either. I wanted to take mine out to give it a good scrub in the house, but it didn't want to come out. I guess you need something like a ratchet between the 2 lengths of metal to squeeze them together??

back seats are dead easy to take out. The bum bit you just squeeze the metal rod so that on side the hook pops out of hole, then the other side will do the same much easier. Piece of cake. As for the back rest, you need to fold it down, then unzip the felt lining on the back to reveal two hex keys. Undo both of them and move the holding steel plate out the way, it wont come fully off, but you can move it to one side.

Then you go to each side of the back rest, down low where the back rest meets the bum bit, and in the corner you will find the hinges, you then just need to open the hinges with a flat headed screw driver at the same time, then the whole back rest will lift up towards the roof, then it will be free and you can angle it to get it out the boot or door. Its easy peasy, honest!
