The saga continues....I need some advice!!!

Bugsy has another hiccup.....this time she has a puncture. Oh whoppee do I hear you shout!! Well, I went out to change her wheel and taaaa daaaaaaaaaa the last garage hasn't given me back my locking wheel nut key. So, I'm stuck. Does anyone know what I can do about it???

If this kind of info is too dodgy to put on the inernet, please please please PM me with it cos I'm pretty desperate.......

I ain't even got a clue what make my locking wheel nuts are cos they have even taken the packet that I keep the key in. I'm one little p155ed off bunny this morning :'(

If you get really stuck there are locking wheel nut removal sockets on ebay.

I bought the nuts speparate as they didn't come standard with my car. Oh bugger......

Ah ha, a locking wheel nut removal tool, sounds like just what I need!!! Hmmmmmmm you reckon the tyres and exhaust people would have them seeing as they take so many wheels off in a day??? I'm gonna get on the phone now.

I'm in the RAC but only for recovery.......don't think they come to you if you are at home??

A garage should be able to take the locking ones off. The adpter on my old set broke and I ended up with one standard 16in alloy suck on, one unlocked 18in alloy and 2 locked 18in alloys..... had to drive to VW to get the 16 removed then when he went into the garage for work I got them to remove the stuck 18s.

They use a tool which tightens as you use it:

Any garage will remove locking nuts ... its actually not that hard that's why folk with locking nuts still get wheels nicked ... they'll probably charge you about a £10 to remove it.

They way I got mine off when I bought a car without the locking removal bit was to wack a socket on until it was solid then just undo easy ... phone a garage first tho!!!

Cracking, called the garage and they have a tool for the job. Will just need to get the tyre inflated and lipm her around there.

You have all been great and at least I now know there is something that can be done :D

I`d call the original garage first to make sure they`ve still got your locking key - otherwise you may as well get all the other locking nuts removed while you`re getting the punctured wheel off. Then just fit new locking nuts :)

Also they may have hidden it in a place you may not have looked.

I've turned Bugsy upside down this morning in a bid to find it but no result. Someone at work has said they might have a tool that will do the job. Fingers crossed...

If not though at least I know that I can pay someone to do it for me. If I smile sweetly they may even just crack it for me for free ;)
