The front one is worn and looks tatty. If I haven't owned the car from new will they change it under warranty?

I would really prefer them both changing for the blue and white ones, not keen on the black and silver.

If it's under warrenty, then yes, they should change them. Whether they'd change them for different style ones or not, I don't know.

Well it should be under the original manufacturers warranty as it's an 04. Even the badge on the steering wheel has rubbed away! The blue and white ones were definitely better quality

Then they should change them no prob. Only one person (Jott) had trouble, but I'm pretty sure they changed them in the end.

The steering wheel one is going?! :-? Crinkey - mine stills looks as new! Actually, all my badges pretty much look as new. There's slight pitting in the chrome on the front badge - probably caused by stone chips, but you can't see it unless you look really closely.

I always seem to buy cars where it looks like the last owner has spent their entire time rubbing their hands all over the steering wheel and doing nothing else!
The silver was worn away on my old one, it's the badge on this one

The silver goes on all of them - that's why I repainted mine.

Ah well, at least they aren't as bad as one of our Bays.... he used to belong to a mechanic, who doesn't appear to have washed his hands after working with oil, before driving him :-?

Yeah, you need to wash your hands when you get to the end of the journey :-/

I scratched my steering wheel badge with the seat belt the first time I got in :-[

Then I made it much, much worse with T-Cut :-[ :-[ :-[

Hi, after reading these posts, I thought that my steering wheel badge looked a bit tatty.. So when visiting my dealer I put it on my list of fixes to be done under warrenty.

But, VW nicely explained that the badge comes as part of the airbag system so it does not fly off when activated. It costs £400 to replace the steering wheel airbag. There was me thinking it's a little old badge. He also said it was wear and tear and would have to speak to VW Sales to see if there was anything they could do. Anyway .. .since they agreed to have my other items done under warrenty, I decided to live with my scratched badge. . .
VW Medway, the service team are excellent, really helpfull. :)
