We're lookin at buying some chromed JGE MP5's... I think they're 18" ... my bug is lowered: H&R -60 Front / -40 Rear Springs ... will they fit OK under the arches?
I have no experience of new cars and tyre/wheel choice combinations!!
cheers

Yup they will:

Check the quality of the chrome tho. I don't have the JGE ones (altho i assume they're the same?), and they're silver, but the quality of them is so crap :( mine have stone chips in them, they're rusting, chip very easily and the paint's bubbling - and they're less than a year old! >:( I'm getting them powdercoated (which will cost around £150-200) to get rid of this - good job I wanted to get them done white, cos i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
As I said, I don't know about the quality of the chrome ones.... in any case you probably won't want to run them over the winter cos chrome doesn't do well in the UK!

I didn't know of anyone else doing them other than JGE :-/ ... thats a bit worrying to hear what has happened to yours ... and they come with a price tag too :o :( ... lucky u wanted them white ... don't think i could afford to keep getting mine rechromed!!
... apparently they do three types; silver, hyper black and chrome
the ones i'm after are these

If i'm deffo having them i'd keep the factory alloys for the winter period!
People have mentioned about looking at Audi wheels - RS4's and 6's ... but don't know if i'm into them :-/

I assume they're made by the same company because they're identical. Could be wrong. I got mine off a wheel company on ebay.
Yeah they're not cheap alloys to start with, then you've gotta add on the refurb which makes them even more expensive :( I wouldn't be very impressed if I wanted them to stay silver. It was my plan to change them to white ever since I got them tho.
The chome ones many be different, I really don't know. I hear the BRM replicas are similar with needing new laquer.... and they're even more expensive!

:o eep that's worrying
we had some of JGE's polished raders on our split single cab and the quality of those were great :-?
altho we did have to treat them to a full on polish every now and then :)

I think we'll still buy some but keep the factory alloys and swop them over in the winter months :)

I've heard bad reports on Randars ... they're US quality and not the strongest of wheels ... have heard they buckle and warp on our roads :o
I'd still have them tho.... it's like high heels... painful as hell.. but I put up with them cos they look nice ;D
yeah i miss that cab :'( ... we used to take it to a lot of shows so you've probably seen it there :) ... but we got sick of sleeping in a tent as it wasn't very practical like a bus!!

Warped wheels don't sound fun.... I'll stick with the radars then ;D
Ah I don't do high heels - I have enough trouble walking normally, never mind with heels!
Yeah that's the problem with singles and crews, they look ace, but they're less practical than a Bug i imagine!

'ello :D
Went down to a friends in Plymouth for a few days and when I came back he'd been out and bought some tyres for me :D
As soon as I got on the drive it wasn't 'ello u have a nice trip?' .... it was 'gimme the keys gimme the keys' :o
... seconds later they were on an they look pretty good :) and then I had the half an hour lecture about how far to stay away from kerbs and where to park and how to look after them :-/
I will post some picks asap :)
Once we've replaced the brakes and colour coded them :D
