I am not going to go on again about my car problems but soon the warranty runs out and yet again I have got to take Silver to see Mr Stealer. I asked them tonight about getting someone from VW to come and inspect it but again I got fobbed off what will it take to get someone to take me seriously for once?

Anyone else tried to do owt similar? Any sucess?

I find a gun normally works ;)

Alternatively if you don't want to get arrested, take him into the dealers and refuse to leave till they inspect it. What's wrong with him? Parking in the way normally gets this done faster. Or try a different dealer.

It's not too serious just the regular window problems I am having to get in via the passenger side at the mo. Silver is just not letting me in to drive him. I think he might be jealous of Luey ;)
I am thinking of driving it through the showroom window after speaking with http://www.fadzter.com/smilies/bazooka.gif Mrs Stealer this evening so I am going to go for a lie down now.http://www.fadzter.com/smilies/sleep.gif

I agree go down there and refuse to leave till someone helps you, nothing they hate more then someone making a little scene as it tends to put other potential customers off ;)

I'd try and different dealer - mine (which admittedly my Dad first bought a bug from in 1975!! and has had numerous cars from since) was really good yesterday. Even had the senior technician phone me to talk through the report on some issues I had raised.

I emailed them a list of warrnaty issues when I booked it in, all of the parts were in stock, they looked at the car agreed with me and fitted/replaced the new bits. Dropped of at 8am and collected at 5pm all sorted and serviced and MOT'd

They are veen chasing VW(UK) on the plate change which seems to be taking an age and I have given up communicating with Milton Keynes about it ::)

Sinclair Volkswagen, Swansea BTW not going to help you but others might appreciate it :)

That's serious enough for it to fail an MOT so get them to sort it!!!!

Not had any big problems with our local dealer (Heritage) yet.
They never clean the cab when it goes in for anything though, it`s always spotless so they say they don`t bother.

Try driving it - it might get dirty then ;)

I'd try a different dealer like peeps have said... That worked for me. Had to travel 20 more miles but they sorted the problems out where the local one wouldn't or couldn't.

The other one like people say is to be a total c**t, but they always hope that you don't have enough time or patience to do that! If you go that route then I'd suggest lucy's advice and heighten it by saying that its not only a mot failure, but a saftey risk being trapped in it etc. Do this all in the sales area at a busy time.

Sad but true ;D

Mind you I`m going to Telford in it tomorrow, that`ll be a 300 mile round trip by the time I`ve finished :(

I'd do the same but I have two other 'garage queens' and need an all weather car :)

Neil

p.s. on dealer, my nearest is within 2 miles of my house and a mile of my office, I chose to drive 70 miles to the next one to get it serviced - it was worth it ;)

It`s the same with all car dealers sadly :(
Our local Ford dealer is absolute cr@p, you wouldn`t believe the hassle they gave us when the Focus was still under warranty - from denying I`d booked it in for a service to bodging gearbox leaks with gasket goo etc etc etc.
We are looking at buying a new Focus this year and would rather travel to a dealer in Wales than 2 miles down the road >:(

Can`t believe you have to pay to get into Wales ;D
Mind you, you don`t want slowing down on the way out ! ;D :P

But seriously I agree - think how damaging it is to business and tourism - would be much better for Wales if it was the other way around. Mind you doesn't stop the M4 resembling a car park every morning so maybe it doesn't make a difference.

If you didn't have the bridge toll we'd seriously consider living in Wales.

i personally think the stealers are a waste of time. they don't seem to care much for aftersales lovin'... if i were you I'd do some homework and find yourself a really good independent garage. :)
