Having owned my turbo for almost two years, i've contantly toyed with the idea of getting the engine remapped. So just over a couple of weeks ago i went to sunny Stratford to see Dr John so he could have a look at my car.
I've never had a car modified before and like most owners it is my pride and joy, so having heard so many positive reviews from fellow buggers i felt more than happy to leave my car with John.
After dropping my car off with John i took the missus for a look round Stratford for a couple of hours (great way to earn brownie points whilst having your car tuned) i got a call from John to say it was all sorted and that he had also conducted a full diagnostic check of the car.
Unfortunatly on my trip to Stratford i managed to get a nail in my tyre, but John helped me out with changing it. With that done i jumped back in my car and i haven't stopped smiling since!
I knew my car was fairly quick before but there was turbo lag and the feeling that there was more to the engine. Following the remap the car pulls incredibly in every gear, its pushes you back in the seat. It certainly suprises people at the lights. Best of all the fuel economy hasn't suffered as a result.
I haven't got a clue how John did it (i think it was witchcraft) but my car now feels totally different to drive and goes like the clappers!
If you want a smile on your face, go see John and get your engine remapped, you will not regret it one bit. Best modification ever!
