:D I wish I could get Herbie remapped. When John did Robbie it made one hell of a difference :D but I don't think the inurance company would be too happy with me remapping a learner car

what can you do with the 2.0 litre 8v just out of interest?

I'm interested too! Got a 1.6 mk4 Goof at mo and would love to have a bit more power - and more importantly anything that helps fuel consumption is good as I do lots of motorway driving at the minute :)

You'll see +10-12 bhp and +10-12 lbs/ft of torque on this and as T1KARMANN said it makes it a lot smoother to drive too, throttle response is improved throughout the rev range too :)

any improvements on MPG or oil consumption as ours is caning both at the moment (lots of shortish drives)
how far from norwich are you bud?

You see small gains 4-5 bhp on these, but on something with a small engine you appreciate all you can get extra people who've had this done, one thing as well is they always report back they can user a gear higher than they would many times making it less labouring to drive and this will help your fuel economy too. Your top speed if you're ever on a private airfield is reported to increase by more than +10mph too! :)

Nothing we can do about that oil consumption I'm afraid! MPG with making more torque at lower rpms then yes it will help, only a little on the normally aspirated cars though. I'm 158.6 miles away according to routeplanner, I do an ECU by post service also if it's too far! Some people use it as an excuse to have a weekend away in Stratford and get a hotel and take the other half out for dinner, this way they get away with having the remap and not getting moaned at :)
