After seeing so many people having problems with their boots not shutting properly, and having to reset mine every time i want to close it i decided to fix the problem,

My boot had got to the stage where it wouldn't lock at all, unless you put the key in the lock and reset it, so...

1. I removed the plastic boot cover by undoing the 2 screws in the handle holes and then gently pulling around the edge to remove the clips,

2. Once in side you can see the whole lock assembly, there is a bar that when you operate the remote boot release it is pushed by the solenoid and opens the lock, mine was opening ok, but the bar has to return to allow the boot to lock,

3. Remove the lock assembly from the boot by undoing the 2 star bolts, i found a normal allen key worked fine, unclip the little plug and unhook the bar from it's white plastic cup,

4. My spring appeared to have lost it's... erm... springyness! so i gently opened it up a little and refitted it

5. Back in side the boot, i decided to give the pivot that the bar moves on a little clean up,

i squirted a little wd40 on the pivot to remove the old grease and crap, then worked it back and forward to loosen it up, before applying a little general purpose grease to keep it free for years to come,

6. I also sprayed a little oil on to the solenoid as i operated it to keep it free,

7. As always refit is the reverse of removal

All done in 15 minutes and now the boot closes perfectly, :D
