Quite a lot of the current threads are requesting a special password for me to view. Am I not special enough to view them? Do I need to go through some sort of secret thread initiation ceremony before I can read them? Can I set up my own threads that only special people can join in?

they won't be :) it's the mods discussing various things.
Basically about half the members here can see the titles and first few lines of what happens in the staff room due to some glitch in the matrix when you click on the home page, or look at the 'who's online' section. You're not supposed to be able to see the titles or the first few lines, but somehow it's happened.

Don't listen to her Dave she's lying to you
The truth is that you are the only one that can't get into those threads, its punishment for not coming round for a cuppa and bringing me some tasty biscuits for ages :D

I shall come with biscuits at some point. The car's still out of action though...
I've probably spent a grand in the last 12 months on keeping him on the road and it's not funny any more!!! That's a lot of biscuits.

Well... After spenging loads of dosh last Nov as I thought it would be wise to change the belt/pump (had done 35,000 miles but he's a 2001) the water pump that was installed decided to fail!
So a couple of weeks ago I get the pump and belt replaced again. He runs fine for a couple of weeks then starts running really rough (revs going up, down, left, right etc...) I get my friendly mechanic neighbour to plug his dongle into my socket - after a good rummage around founds everthing is as it should be.
Does a re-set and everything’s fine. Until last week when I start getting a knocking at the front off side wheel area. It only seems to happen when I turn the wheel quite a way while pulling off (hello sailor!) Only the one thud and then that’s it. Haven’t figured that one out yet…

hmmm
well firstly some of that sounds very dodgy young man
'dongle into my socket '
'good rummage '
dirty boy
and now on to the bug.......not too sure
so is it only the one thud, and only when you are pulling off??
or does it happen when you turn dramatically too??
(I have no idea what it is by the way just thought more info might help us find the answer lol)

have you tried jacking it up and giving the wheel a good spin/tug/wobble?
