whats the difference?

ive been looking at beetles to buy, and i see loads of different ones... 1303, 1300, 1302 , super beetle, oval, split screen, i no some of the basic looking difference but was jsut wndering what the engine/mechanical differences are and what years they came into play? does anyone ahve any ideas and can anyone tell me :D as my dad thinks i shud get one with just mc pherson strut sus so that its better but i found a really nice on that might have it im not sure as i dont no the difference. ALSO haha, was just wondering what the pros/ cons of MP struts over the normal beam...

the MP ones are the 1302 and 1303. They're much later than the beam Bugs and not as likely to be tax exempt. They rot even worse too! But they handle significantly better.

ahh kk thanks, so mp are better for handleing but rot far worse.. so isit worth me looking for an MP beetle or go for a F****** nice looking 1969 beetle without MP, because the handleing doesnt really bother me lol, i can handle anytthing quickly ;) haha

Well a Beetle (whatever the suspension) isn't going to be the best handling car in the world anyway... so I'd get a beam Bug because they rot slightly less and are easier to sell/more desireable.

ahh kl kl cheers :D more reason to put an ofer in for this bug i found :D but its been advertised for 28 days now so dont no its been taken, it looks the nuts :D haha but my dad was like i dunno it doesnt have MP struts and i jsut wanted a reason to go against it and u found me one :D:D THANK YOU! haha, just w8ing for pictures of the interior then im getting str8 onto the fone :D:D only thing is the car like 3 hours drive away :D ut i dont care lol, 3 hour drive in it is how i see it lmao :D

Make sure you check it all over for rust - the pans, the channels, framehead etc.

yeah i will do :D it was full recond in 2006 with new panels all around :D so shud be ite for rust, but ill still have a good look :D
