Any advice appreciated.
What to do and not to do, what to look out for etc.

hahahaha - be prepared to use this face  a lot!

We've fitted a set to Bella and they were a nightmare! What we did was put the hinge on the body, then fit the window to the hinge. Use lots of WD40 to make sure the rubber slides nicey when you're lining the window up to fit the window to the hinge.

On your Bug the holes for the hinge should be pre-drilled and probably the ones for the catch - move the headliner back and you should be able to see them.

The hinge plates where the screws screw into are a bit of a nightmare to line up.

You'll need a helper.

I have read loads of posts where people said they put a set in by themselves in 20 mins  - I think these people may have been octupusses!

haha I never get p155ed off with my aircooled (famous last words)
I haven't checked but I don't think mexicans have the pre drilled holes on the B or the C pillar, so it might be a bit more involved.

They are proper vw ones so I am hoping they will go in without hassle.

Whats the quality like on yours? Mine is still airtight so I hope I don't loose this after fitting them.

Mine are VW ones too - the fit isn't that great tbh - I wouldn't be suprised if they leak!

We had to drill the holes in Bella - wasn't too bad but you have to go pretty close to the edge of the metal which is a bit scary.
