I've seen some chrome binacle surrounds available but this is a cheap and easy way to add a bit of bling to your bug.

Visit Halfrauds and pick up a pack of self adhesive chrome trim in a red package. They are hung up in flat packs about a foot square usually near a load of tacky jap accessories! They sell for under a tenner. 7mm is the best size but narrower and wider are available. It's just personal taste.

DO NOT GET THE CHINESE/JAPANESE STUFF:mad: ! This comes in a smaller black package and doesn't use 3M adhesive, rather a separate roll of gummy rubbish that you have to apply yourself to the chrome trim and it just doesn't stick!

Throughly clean round the inner and outer rim of your speedo binnacle to remove any silicone, Back to Black, boot polish or anything else you apply to make ya dash gleam!

Use scissors to carefully cut the chrome trim to length. For the outer rim the trim is already rolled in the correct direction. Offer your cut piece up to make sure you're happy with the length. Remove the plastic backing from the 3M adhesive. Carefully stick in place using the side of the cowl as a guide.

I was so impressed with the look:D , I added some to the inside rim too and this gives some funky reflections from your clock after dark.

This mod still leaves you with loads of tape left to let your imagination run wild! Good Luck!

definitely, very nice :)

can do the same with a chrome strip across the top of the dash from one side to the other. hides the gaps where the panels go together :)

Thanks, I was surprised how good it looks! I've used some more of it to go on the bar between my foglights too. Looks good, especially if you have the chrome fog light covers! I'm considering a strip along the bottom of the windows like the chrome strip that runs right round on the cabs!

Have to show caution though or else ya car looks draped in the stuff!!! Subtlety is the key!

Looks better when glinting in the summer sunshine but not much chance of that at the moment!
