I`ve got an electric polisher in the garage but I`m too scared to use it

A machine polisher and electric polisher are fairly different, those leccy polishers you get from Halfords are crap!

Buy a proper machine polisher and (carefully with the right pads) use it and the results are awesome!

Harry was Machine polished just before the Xmas Cruise - made a massive difference!

It is quite a good one, mate of mine that used to own a garage has it in storage in my garage - together with 4 huge Snap on boxes full of tools, a set of welding bottles and god knows what else

The pads are indeed for a polishing machine such as the Meguiars G220 or Porter Cable.

Hands may work well but, once you've properly polished by machine (swirl and defect removal, not waxing) then you won't look back :).

Even though these sorts of pads are for machine use, you can get a velcro finger strap and use them effectively by hand... I often use the finishing pads for applying waxes or sealants that don't require machine application.

Cheers :).
