View Full Version : Dubfreeze - Stafford

The first show of the year is about a month away. Dubfreeze on Sunday 17th February is the traditional start to the season for Dubbers, a great chance to pick up some goodies and generally emerge blinking into the light after a long winter of car washing and little else! The mostly indoor show is in the large hall at Stafford County Showground, 2 miles from Stafford on the A518. M6-J13 from south or J14 from the north. Loads and loads of stalls selling stuff and a smaller hall with show cars. Get there early for bargains and then just wander round the carpark checking out all the sights. Be good to meet some Evvo members there. Dave

Hi all,
This will be our first show!
Looking forward to seeing loads of NBs (saves me taking 100s of pics of my own NB lol) - what should I expect?
Any secret handshakes? lol
An old beetle came past me a couple of weeks ago (from Newport heading towards Donnington) and the passenger did some strange wave / hand waggle 'thang'.
I didn't think the 'old-buggers' waved to the NBs?
Mind you, I'm struggling to get waves off NBs!
Shamrockez
18th January 2008, 07:23
That'll be the 'no worries' wave! :D
Some people in oldies will wave at Newbies - especially if they're customised - and most will wave back if you wave at them (assuming they've seen you).
At Dubfreeze you should expect loads of interesting cars in the car park, a decent for sale line up, and loads of rusty crap in the hall! Plus some show cars and for it to be a little chilly!

It's usually cold, wrap up warm coz even though the hall is (slightly) heated, it's the car park where most of the viewing is done. Bring cash and cards! There's nowt worse than seeing something for ya bug and wishing you coulda got it on the day. Shamrockez's summed it up well. It's mostly a 'trade' show for Dubbers to pick up stuff for the forthcoming season and there are loads of stalls catering for both the air and watercooled fraternaties. It's a 'chilled out' day!

No club stand, big car park. Not really a show show, more of a big hall with loads of junk for sale (Sorry :o A/cooled bits) A VW for sale area out in the cold maybe a Show'n'Shine bit if i remember.
The Club Stand is the car park, everyone just wanders around lost
Big good idea to arrange to meet at one of the M6 Junctions for a cruise there :) First convoy of the year :D I'll try and not get there 3 hours early this time

It's a short hop down A roads to Stafford for us BUT if there's a chance of a cruise, I'll gladly take a detour to the M6 and meet up.
