more details please Special K, as i have been thinking that a sport might just be out of reach for my budget, also if the only difference is wheels springs and seats, well i can lower it cheap, buy some wheels and maybe some audi or golf seats.
whats yours all about then mate.
cheers

Special K's is a nice bug - the engines are the same as is the suspension, its just the interior, exhaust and bumpers that are different :)

looking forward to hearing about it then, so would 2.0L lowering springs work with the V5 then?

Yes and no. They're not designed for the V5 as it's a heavier engine (as is the TDi). However I've ran my TDi on 2.0 springs and it was fine, but sat lower than what it should have been...

Lucy's bug was also rather bouncy as well ;)

I agree ;)
I dunno how the V5 engine would be on them tho, as I can only speak for the TDi.

Yeah that is true! He's still bouncy on the coilovers, but not as much as on the springs.

Don't know if this is of any interest, but the interior differs a bit more than just the seats... In normal bugs the top of the dash is black, but the bottom half is grey or beige... same for the centre consol. Door cards too... In the sport edition all the interior plastic is black... Its one of the reasons I preferred the sport ed. but then again we are all different!

Its a 2001 51 plate with 71k on the clock.. its in good nick and has just been serviced, it up for sale on autotrader for 6 but i'd be happy with 5500-5700
One little problem if i'm honest is there is a little tiny hole in the drivers bolster on the leather seats but its hardly noticeble, apart from that the car has been great for me.. Have changed the Air flow meter (MAF) and one of the rear bearings but all in all its a good car...
Don't want to sell it.. but i've just gone back to being a student so i need to cut costs..
Your welcome to view it anytime.. I'm in Coventry

i may have found a V5 sport for the right money.
im going to look at it on saturday hopefully. can anyone think of anything in perticular to look out for on it?
its an 03, silver, 49.000 on the clock, it says GOOD SERVIVE HISTORY, not too fussed about main dealer but i would be nice if the book was all stamped up by an independant.
its up for £7.290

Check the sills for signs of damage repairs or crushing from being jacked up in the wrong place, check the roof gutters for signs of rust (shouldn't be a problem being post 02 but its worth checking anyway), check for ny knocking in the steering - this could indicate the rack is on its way out -a common problem for bigger engined bugs, check the body V carefully especially the bumpers they are very prone to knocks, check all the electrics work, heated seats, heated mirrors etc etc (the mirrors can get left on burning out the elements - the glass is £60 a pair to replace) also check it is a sport! ie has the 2 tone heated seats, different bumpers and wheels, different interior trim and all black dash.
