Full Details for Reading Meet - Sunday 14th October.

Hot off the evvo Press :)

Once again a big thanks to you all for your support this year. We have more members attending and some really great prizes up for grabs from some really great companies, as well as (weather permitting) a visit from the Oxford Edition Speedster complete with new modifications. Remember this Beetle hasnt been seen in the UK since Ultimate Dubs and the guys at OE have been waving their magic wand again.

If you have contributed in ANYWAY at all it really is a big help when organising events like this as there’s only so much that myself and Ali can pull together on our own.

This year we are expecting circa 35 – 40 Beetles and a few other VWs at the event and we are again getting press coverage through the local Reading newspapers and possibly ITV to cover the story on the local news.

We would ask members to please arrive from 1pm this year in order that we can get as many cars as possible set up in the right areas, voting forms for the show n shine competition will be distributed on your windscreens, everyone votes and everyone enters. We plan to erect the club gazebo erected just in case of some rain.

Show n Shine judging will commence at about 2.30 with the results being finalised at 3.30 and trophies and prizes at 4pm. Photographs will then be taken for use on the Club Calendar and most people will then have a meal in TGI Friday's before heading home. This year there are certain categories that will only be judged by Show n Shine section sponsors and some only by evvo members. This will be perfectly clear on your voting form who and how you should voted.

Once again TGI Fridays are welcoming us and have offered 50% off meals for those of us who will dine in the restaurant after the Show n Shine prizes have been distributed. The boys from Oxford Edition plan to stay around so it should be a nice chance for us to meet new and old friends and also get the low down on their big show on 4th November.

Prizes and competition sections this year are at the moment as follows:-

Evvo Best in Show - sponsored by Oxford Edition - Tomas Sport Tuning Strut bar offered as a prize for the winner
Best Detailed Beetle - sponsored by Serious Performance car care - Valet/Waxing Kit for the winner
Best ICE - sponsored by Pattern One Ltd. - Pattern One are our forum vinyl/sticker and club wear producer. They can produce car mats, boot mats, custom vinyl graphics, stickers and club logo t-shirts. They are providing £30 worth of product for the winner of this category
Best Daily Driver - sponsored by VW Driver Magazaine - winner will get a year's subscription to VW Driver Magazine
Best Standard Beetle - sponsored by Porschtrimmr - winner receives trimming of their choice to gear gaitor and grab handle. There is also a trophy for this section which the club has had produced to commemorate the winner from year to year.
Best Performance Modified - Sponsored by DNA Tuning

Neil Birkitt editor of VW Driver will be popping in to see us all again. Hopefully Neil will be able to meet some of you and chat to you about your Beetles.

Once again we are producing the famous Reading Big Bug stickers for this year's event. The stickers this year are priced at £3 a sticker (single stickers). I will be bringing approximate 40 stickers as well as some evvo.co.uk club stickers.

Also on the day you will be the first to see the brand new evvo.co.uk club wear. We have used our new contact at Pattern One Ltd. to produce high quality t-shirts and polo shirts with the club logo on. You will be able to see the samples and place orders for these great items and support the club further. T-shirts will have the logo available in a vinyl finish and a flock velvet finish availble in white, silver and red. Prices for t-shirts are £13 and polo shirts £15.

It's not long now - so let's take Reading by storm!

See you all there....

Evvo Mods :)

p.s. if other VW's come on the day then thats fine :) but they will probably be asked to park in a different part of the car park so as to not 'dilute' the bug pics!!
