You'll need to check if it would fit first - some years have a different number of splines to others.
You can pick them up pretty cheap at shows tbh.

I'm not sure what year the splines changed on later Bugs. Best to ask on VZi when it's back, cos someone's bound to know :)

I love them as thats what we have in our 66 :D I agree i would ask on VZI to make sure it would fit your bug as different years vary and its better to be safe then sorry before parting with your money ;)

dude, vw heritage do an o.e. steering wheel that looks extremely similar to the one you have seen on egay... It's a reproduction made to fit '62 to '74 (and only £185  so yeah - £60/70 is worth it as long as it is the same one...)
follow this linky... http://www.vwheritage.com/vwh/Beetle-Parts/Steering-Suspension/Steering-Wheels/?srchPart=311%2D415%2D651%2FD%2FBK (http://www.vwheritage.com/vwh/Beetle-Parts/Steering-Suspension/Steering-Wheels/?srchPart=311%2D415%2D651%2FD%2FBK)

Also, not sure what wheel you have in your '73 but you can buy centre buttons :)

I would have thought you'd be able to buy decent ones for £30ish. I paid less than £60 for my restored 58 wheel which are much rarer.
