I'm Nedi, and i've been reccommended to come here by blugg, or jaffa-bug as he's known here....
My bug is 51 gorgeous techno blue and i've only had him since 1 june, i love him to bits and can't wait to go to exciting shows in him, the Southsea show was my first in him, bit of a difference when 10 years ago I had my 'old original' beetle which was a '68 bug which i restored in a year and a day and had him for 9 years til i got a motorbike...
Mk1 golf, mk2, and mk3, since then traded mk3 in for my bug as I have now.. So nice to have a beetle again although i still get confused his engine is now in a different place and forgot other day when i went to clean the smear off the rear window and climbed in the back to do so! :p ;) What a wombat I am!
so hopefully i can meet some of you, and have lots of fun.... :beerchug:

Hi there and welcome aboard :) you have a great colour in techno blue although remember red ones are faster :p
Sounds like you certainly have VWs in your blood - there's a few good shows before now and the end of the season (this year it seems to have flown by and been a bit of mixed afair because of the weather), so hopefully we can see you at a show soon. We have our big club meet on 14th October at TGI Friday's in Reading with lots of prizes up for grabs.

Welcome to Evvo :) Got any pics of your Bug? :)
Wish I could have restored my oldie in a year and a day lol - 2yrs so far and she's actually further away from being on the road than when I got her

oh dear, well i guess you're probably doing a better and thorough job more than I did. i got new floors but i didn't do body off chassis job, and i had to get new wings, running boards, front bumper, fix the door bottoms and new rubbers all over, so many parts, i listed all of them from the beginning so i could see how much it cost... In those days though i was in 6th form so i finished early from school and started every evening and worked all through xmas as i hate xmas so i had lots of time then... nowadays it would take forever working full time and everything else I do...

oh, and i don't know how to do piccies very well, just tried but my file said it was too big, not by much but i don't know how to resize it, and the one for the left, said it had trouble to upload, but i'll try again! it might be a bit squished though! :(

I think there's a how to on pics in the How To section :)
Lol - I wish! I've hardly had to do anything to her. She's an Aussie import so her channels and pans are perfect. I just had to weld up the a pillars and repair some (very light) accident damage on the back end. I've had to do some fiddling about with the front gearbox mount, fit a new engine and rewire her - oh and a slamming job :D so I've not had much to do - it's just that it's all gone wrong lol.

I'm on a high now,i've properly washed him for first time since i got him and used that new autoglym polish i got at the show that you spray on whilst still wet and wipe him off looks lovely, and easier than normal polishing, and hey blugg, you there, stuck his new pressie on like yours but mine's blue! yeahhhh

How long did it take you to peel off, took me what seemed hours, but the backing was warm
I had fun trying to get it central too

yeah it didn't take too long, i centralised it first then stuck it on just one flap first, rubbed it over with a cloth on a warm dash from sitting in the sun and then gently peeled over the top layer, a couple of bits went to come off, but i used my finger nail to gently pursuade the strand off, and it's stuck, looks way cool :)
