I smell a Damaged/Repaired Not recorded here.
Or is it just me?
Newer mirrors...originals smashed off?
No SH...Lost when it was damaged or at salvage yard
Full respray...probably needed it due to the damage so might aswell change the colour!
Engine out....Probably hanging out more like
Chassis waxoiled.....Should not have needed this, Classic for a damaged repaired car as it covers welding underneathe very nicely
its an 01 but front/rear badges are post 03 items....damaged originals?
Steering wheel badge is black/silver, again post 03, Air bag went off?
Tops of inside doors are silver, how come they forgot to pait them pink?
Isnt the interior trim black? Thought black door and dash trims were off later cars only? Silver 01's with leather have grey plastics
Sounds like its made up of a few different bugs to me!
I'm not saying it is but I wouldnt touch it!

A few of your responses don't add up either.
Newer mirrors...originals smashed off? It's a bit of an oem mod.
No SH...Lost when it was damaged or at salvage yard - not every car has FSH
Full respray...probably needed it due to the damage so might aswell change the colour! Cobblers. Why would you spend thousands a colour change if it was damaged repaired? the bulk head and the tub itself would need changing - far too much graft for just a damage repair.
Engine out....Probably hanging out more like - engine rebuild? Uprated engine swap? Cam belt change?
Chassis waxoiled.....Should not have needed this, Classic for a damaged repaired car as it covers welding underneathe very nicely - newbies rust too, especially on the roof gutter
its an 01 but front/rear badges are post 03 items....damaged originals?
Lots of people swap for newer badges.
Steering wheel badge is black/silver, again post 03, Air bag went off? Could be, or they swapped it to go with the exterior ones.
Tops of inside doors are silver, how come they forgot to pait them pink? Odd. I'll give you that one.
Isnt the interior trim black? Thought black door and dash trims were off later cars only? Silver 01's with leather have grey plastics - damage repair wouldn't mean change all the interior panels to black - theme maybe?
Sounds like its made up of a few different bugs to me! Maybe - that's how oem+ works lol!
I'm not saying it is but I wouldnt touch it![/quote] Best you don't then mate. Sounds like you've made your decision.

My Bug (98) has the black and silver badge on the steering wheel as standard - they were in America.

No that was a 1.6. I seem to remember someone wanting to buy it, but didn't because it didn't have air con.

I see it!! i don't like it much though, deffo put me off refurbing my wheels black to tie in with a 'theme' i don't like the sound or look of it personally, the pinks a bit sickly imo and the rear spoiler is errr yeah well. but to be fair it could all be perfectly legit mods...mines going to be changed drastically, so hope peeps don't think its a Cat D or something....Reslae on a pink car is always going to be harder as its sooo much personal taste personally i wouldn't have got the full pink respray if i didn't intend on keeping it till it died....Modded cars also have difficulty in selling too theres a few around that have been for sale for ages so its all gravy...

Modified cars either sell instantly or take forever. All depends if someone else loves that car enough to want it 'as is'.
