My mates fitted an AEM kit to his Civic type R and its awesome! I need to get some similar sounds from mine!

Is there a good induction kit for my Turbo?

I have a pipercross panel at the mo and although i'm sure it works well. I'd like some more noise!!!

Be very careful with induction kits from our experience open induction dosen't work on the 1.8T or the civic fot that mater as I had a Civic Type R before my Golf. The reason the AEM kit works on the civic is due to the fact it sits in a pocket in the front bumper (there may be potential for this on a 1.8T especially with the votex front). I've fitted a AEM kit for my brother in law it's fun to say the least!

As far as I know there's not a kit out there but from working on our cold air feed to the viper kit we have on out 1.8T there is room in the votex front bumper.

If you want to go down this route you may have to prefabricate your own kit but I'd be interested to see the result an offer advice :)

There seem to be plenty of off the shelf kits available, K&N, pipercross, Green all do them for my engine. I've seen a few non branded jobs on ebay but wouldnt touch one unless i knew of someone who had one! Theres also a Simota one that includes a cold air feed and a carbon surrounded filter that looks good. I'll have to do some research. probably on Seatcupra.net as theres quite a few tuned turbos on there!

Induction kits give an audible increase which is psychological 99% of the time, intake temps are critical so you need to be sure you're getting cold air and no the hot stuff from under the bonnet...

I have to be honest Charlie your Turbo does sound awesome with that Viper on. I also get the feeling Chris likes the sound of it too....I remember hearing him tickling the throttle in the Holiday Inn car park!!

yeah he's such a boy racer some times he loves the viper kit - loved it on the Type-R and then when we fitted the IceBox he just went all wobbly - i think Jack reminds him of the Type-R days
