Well its done and the V5 won't ever be the same again!!
The motor sounds different, deeper and meatier, and it pulls and pulls and pulls...
I'm very happy with the outcome and it represents excellent value for money in real tuning terms. I gave it some beans on the way home and it is noticeably quicker at all speeds, but really takes off around 4k rpm when the air intake tract changes. Didnt seem to use any more petrol on the way home, then I did going up either.
Many thanks John, you're a legend!

Nice one Mark!
Are you running a filter with it as well?

No, keep the standard filter dude, thought about it but I change the standard filter regularly and with the variable inlet I'm not sure how much difference it will make TBH.
Peter my man, you have to scrape the pennies together for this one!

Yeah you don't see many gains from the filter. And to think you were nervous about getting it done! The change in fuel/timing certainly does make it sound alot sweeter. The turbo diesels may have the best torque, the 1.8T's the most horsepower and top speed but for the best sound a remapped V5 is the best sounding bug(ignoring the RSi as there's not many about lol)

You can spend £200 in a sports shop on a couple of pairs of trainers.
You can Spend £200 on a romantic dinner for 2
You can spend £200 on a mountain bike
But can you get so much excitement from them as you would from having the @DNA experience and still have change to get a disposable camera to take a few pics of your New Smile when driving it back home and some fuel ;) :)

I just got in from work and went for a blast down some familiar roads on the way home.
The flat spot at 2.5k has gone (that really, really bugged me!!)
Also the increased torque means i'm not changing gears as much, meaning its quicker through the twisty bits too.
Very happy with outcome :D

Chenko glad u had it done it really makes a difference. Before I got into cars and stuff I knew people that had remaps done and heard horror stories. John and his work is a credit to an industry that has its fair share of shoddy remappers. John won't state what he cannot achieve and your bug is only gonna get better as u run her in.
nice one Dude
